New Dallas Cowboys Candidates announced

Training Camp Candidates AnnouncedMarla PayneDallasCowboysCheerleaders.comJune 1, 2010
Saturday morning 73 bright shining faces eagerly awaited entrance to Cowboys Stadium to begin the final round of auditions to earn a coveted invitation into this year’s training camp. 46 candidates, 27 veterans, but ultimately only 44 spots to fill… Who would be the chosen ones? How many hopefuls would be lucky enough to make a second or third attempt at beating the odds? Would this year be their year to finally wear the star spangled uniform?
Fur, feathers, glitter galore and an assortment of props including an ice cream cart, a switchboard, cages, cupcakes, and an array of choreography kept the judges engaged and entertained throughout the morning. Music selections included everything from Broadway show tunes to Lady Gaga, while costumes ranged from Disney themes to Barbie. The veterans especially outdid themselves with props, costumes and clever lyrics, leaving nothing to chance.
After a quick costume change into their performance outfits, all the candidates sat down to a 71 question test. Following a short break and a chance to “fluff and puff”, the hopefuls and veterans were led to the field to perform their sideline combination and kickline routines. Seated in the stadium, the judges evaluated the group performances on the Jumbo Tron where no figure flaw or missed step went unnoticed on the 90 ft. high definition screen.
The names that were finally called included multiple Meagans, Kaitlins, and Brittanys, and not surprisingly, all 27 veterans. Routine traditions and superstitions aside, some of your favorites will be back for another year, along with 17 promising rookie candidates. This week these ladies begin the long arduous journey to wearing the star spangled uniform of America’s Sweethearts while CMT once again films every twist and turn of events for season 5 of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team 5.

NFL Cheerleader wife surprised by Soldier husband's return

What a sweet story!!!

A rookie member of the Washington Redskins cheerleading squad got quite a surprise Thursday night when her husband, who had been stationed overseas, returned home early. "My legs turned to Jello, and it's not just from practice. I saw him and I just couldn't stand up anymore, he had to hold me up," said Kristin Edick.Lieutenant Denver Edick was in Iraq then Afghanistan. He wasn't supposed to come home until July, but got to return sooner.

While he was away his wife Kristin won a prize spot on the skins cheerleading squad. "I’m a very lucky man obviously. And I believe I was more nervous today than on our wedding day. It's just a blessing," said lt. Denver Edick.Kristin Edick had been practicing all night with her fellow cheerleaders, unaware that her husband was coming. The director was in on the surprise. "It's so nice to see these girls, the other side of their lives because I work with them, you know just 'five, six, seven, eight, get in line' to be able to kind of have a window into what their life is like and what it must be like while he's been away overseas its just very touching," said Stephanie Jojokian. Now they plan to hang out, watch a few movies and Edick says he'll obviously be at all of the Redskins games."Take a little vacation. A lot of catching up to do. Not get any further than a few inches from each other," Edick said.

Taking it back - NC Cheerleader arrested...

How can you forget this!

In one of the most appreciated arrests in sports history, two NFL Carolina Panther cheerleaders were cuffed, mugged and accused of having lesbian sex in a public bathroom.
Does it get any better than that !
The incident happened back in November ‘05 in a Tampa bar called Banana Joe’s and the girls were booked with a laundry list of charges including resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, assault, giving a false name and causing harm to another; a third-degree felony punishable by 1 to 5 years.

Renee Thomas of Pittsboro, NC and Angela Keathley of Belmont, NC were hanging out and slammin’ drinks at Joe’s when they took a stroll to the bathroom together like all women do.
According to a Tampa Police Report and witnesses, a gang of local Tampa ho’s got pissed off at the sexy couple for frolicking a little bit too long in the stall.
Hearing moaning coming from the closed stall, the gang started calling the pom-pom girls “whores” and “bitches” and later reported one of the girls were “going down on the other” right there in the stall.
After exiting their private quarters, one of the pom-pomers slugged one of the whining bitches, triggering a cat-fight melee.
Later, the Tampa cops showed up and Thomas resisted arrest; guess she didn’t want to be cuffed, not with metal ones that hurt anyway.
Both women ate jail food the next morning before posting out and being released. (see them in our Sports Mugshots and Cheerleader Gallery)
Keathley and Thomas were both booted off the cheer squad for violating a cheerleader code that “bans conduct embarrassing to the team or organization” and were immediately approached by Penthouse Magazine to do a spread and story.
This story generated so much interest nationwide that the Panthers NFL site crashed after receiving millions of hits.

On the Panthers Cheerleader site, both cheerleaders had listed the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as their favorite charity. Maybe they were giving each other complimentary breast exams and this whole thing was a misunderstanding.
Both girls did plea out with Thomas being sentenced to 12 months probation, 50 hours of community service, and ordered to pay $400 restitution. She was also ordered to attend an anger management class and was barred from financially benefiting from the incident.
Keathley also copped a plea and was sentenced to probation.
All this time us guys thought you girls went to the john together to gossip!
